Sesto, however, has a modern net of paths that extend for 200km, nearby . Long walks through the snow may be enjoyed by those who enjoy cross country skiing as well as by those who enjoy riding wooden sleds pulled by horses and would like a taste of old traditions.
Sesto is identical to how it was one hundred years ago, with its Tyrolese hotels, snow-covered houses and wood substituting cement.

Did you know that there is a snow train that travels from Messina, Reggio Calabria, Lecce, Bari, Naples and Rome to S. Candido and a bus from here to Sesto? Departure Friday nights and return Sunday mornings after 8 days!
ALTO ADIGE NIGHT EXPRESS
Runs from January 9th to March 28th and allows you to lengthen your stay by an entire day. Putting the stress of driving, highway traffic, fog and ice behind you. We are referring to the ALTO ADIGE NIGHT EXPRESS: Arrival at S. Candido is scheduled for around 11:40 AM and departure at 5:20 PM. BY CAR
The town can be reached from all various area of by the Brennero Highway, Bressanone exit, in the direction of Brunico- S. Candido. Alternatively, for those coming from the South East, must take the Padova – Vittorio Comelico and Passo monte Croce Highway, which is quite easy to cross.

ITALIAN RECIPE OF THE DAY
For 4-6 servings:
- 400 g malloreddus
- 450 g minced cinghiale (wild boar)
- 450 g tomato sauce
- 1 onion
- some bay leaves
- grated pecorino
- extra-virgin olive oil
- salt
- pepper
Sauté the onion in a generous quantity of oil, add the minced meat, flavour with a pinch of salt and one of pepper, and leave to brown for a few minutes. Add the tomato sauce with some bay leaves, and cook slowly for two hours. After cooking the malloreddus in plentiful salted water, drain and flavour with the sauce and the grated pecorino.
