CHRISTMAS IN NAPLES, VIA SAN GREGORIO ARMENO

Naples, Via San Gregorio Armeno, from 30th November 2006 to 06th January 2007

In Naples, in one of the most popular and historical streets, the Christmas crib show with craftsmanlike cribs in the typical and charachteristic craftman's studios of S. Gregorio Armeno. A journey through one of the most suggestive lanes of Napels, passing by the cribs and the craftman's studios, the alley where the most famous Christmas cribs of the world were made.

The craftman's studios showing the cribs made by local artists, visited by every kind of people and from everywhere, are opened through the whole year, but at Christmas time it is quite difficult to pass through the enormous crowd of curious visitors. The famous street S. Gregorio Armeno takes its name from the homonym monasterial complex. Here it is the centre of production and sale of the shepherds. The little street is rich on both the sides of shops/laboratories that invade the road with stalls and various exhibitions.
