INCONTRI MUSICALI SORRENTINI - EDITION 2007

Sorrento - September 15th to October14th The curtain rises over the Classic Music Festival - Incontri Musicali Sorrentini, in the traditional and monumental venue of St. Francis Cloister, in the Basilica of S.Antonino and in the Sanctuary of San Giuseppe in Sant’Agnello.
The Tourist Board of Sorrento and Sant’Agnello strongly wanted to keep this event surviving and this year we celebrate the 35th edition of the festival, which has become in the years the annual musical happening for the tourism of the entire peninsula.
Our town has a deep-rooted and strong tradition with music; the concerts will be performed from September 15th to October14th, also for a tourist deseasonalization purpose.
The programm includes national and international artists, with proposals of the local tradition together with everlasting Classics and makes once more this event one of the most enjoyable among the cultural and artistic offers of our region.
The Music Director for this year is Antonio Maione and the festival has been included in the Great Events of The Regione Campania and financed by the Regional Assessorship of Tourism and Arts .
The Fondazione Sorrento, in cooperation with the local Tourist Associations and the Town Hall of Sorrento and Sant’Agnello were of great help in the organization of the festival with the mutual purpose of arranging events of considerable interest to promote our area.
