Meta di Sorrento boasts the area's longest stretch of sand, the spiaggia di Alimuri. ‑Until a century ago, Meta's marina moored one of Italy's largest shipping tonnages, but is now another bustling modern suburb, with more Sorrento overflow hotels, and cafés with tables out in sunny piazze. In a square on the main road, the Madonna del Lauro basilica (open 7am-noon, 4-7 pm daily), with its low, tiled dome and neo-classical façade, was rebuilt in the XVIII century, but it is believed to stand on the site of a temple to Minerva.
It is advisable to check also the availability of the apartments in Sorrento and the apartments in Positano.

- 1 fist-sized ball mozzarella, cut into approximately 1/4-inch slices, then strips
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 3 heaping tablespoons all-purpose flour
