Positano is the first town one meets at the beginning of the
bay of Salerno. It is from here that begins that stretch of the coast of Campania which is named after its main
centre, Amalfi. It is the beautiful Amalfi Coast, called also the Divine Coast because of its many suggestive corners,
its wonderful views and magnificent sceneries. High and steep as it is, this coast is made of small promontories, on
which many towers were erected against the raids of pirates, frightful gorges and deep caves, into which the sea has
dug small bays with very clear waters, cosy beaches, and huge rocky walls on the sea. Along this coast, known because
of its wonderful and mythical beauty, which is something very real, there are many picturesque small towns, clinging
to the steep cliffs or lying at the end of brief valleys, in an unlimited space, suspended between the vast sea and
the infinite sky.
Positano is one of the pearls of this coast. It rises on calcareous rocks, which characterize the whole area and make
the landscape particularly suggestive thanks to the various forms and daring and fanciful construction the nature has
created here. The town lies on a terraced land immersed in a green landscape and looking on a particularly blue sea.
At its foot, a small beach stretches itself on the sea.
Its picturesque position, mild climate, its natural beauties have made of this town a very well known tourist centre.
Moreover Positano has all that can make your holidays very pleasant and comfortable, having provided with the most
modern equipments: hotels, characteristic restaurants, tennis courts, mini golf links. Underwater fishing can be
practised in its waters.
